10 years ago, the unit culture was vastly different on the neonatal unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Parents were asked to leave nurseries during ward rounds and handovers, with doctors updating parents once all babies had been seen. This could result in parents being unable to see their baby for a number of hours.
